CLINICAL ROTATIONS

Qatar
Senior residents will work with Dr. Hina Ghory to participate in a clinical rotation at the Hamad Medical Center (HMC)'s Emergency Department, affiliate of the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q). Residents will get the opportunity to do EMS ride-alongs, be responsible for giving lectures to HMC's EM residents, and participate in teaching medical students at WCMC-Q.
Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.

Tanzania
Senior EM residents will work in Weill Bugando Medical Center, a tertiary care center in Mwanza, Tanzania, with its own medical school. Residents will have patient care responsibilities in the ICU and on the wards, and will spend afternoons in the Emergency Department. Residents will be expected to give several lectures during the rotation, as well as to aid in training Tanzanian interns and residents in the use of ultrasound. Faculty Mentor: Dana Sacco (CUMC/NYP)

India
Supervise EM residents in US affiliated EM training programs in India. You will be working with the local EM residents, be responsible for delivering rigorous EM didactics, and assist in bedside supervision and learning.
Minimum commitment: 2 weeks. (You will visit two sites, one week at each site)

Gallup Indian Medical Center Volunteer Program, New Mexico
Work in the emergency department at the Gallup Indian Medical Center serving the people of the Najavo Nation, the largest reservation in the United States.
Minimum commitment: 4 weeks

Bhutan (Proposed, starting July 2013)
Work with local physicians staffing the ED in Thimphu providing clinical supervision and didactics, contributing to the incremental development of emergency medicine in kingdom of Bhutan.
Minimum commitment: 4 weeks

Scholarships
Qualifying residents are eligible to apply for travel grants through the EM residency program. Grants or stipends will be awarded based on availability of funds, project merit and existing contracts with our overseas partners.
