Renu Chawla Mital MD, FACEP is a board certified Emergency Physician and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine Weill Cornell Medical College/New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Mital graduated from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and then trained for two years in Orthopedic Surgery followed by an Emergency Medicine Residency at Summa Health Systems in Ohio. Dr. Mital has been an Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital for 12 years since 1998.
Dr. Mital has a particular interest in Orthopedics and enjoys lecturing to residents and physician assistants. Dr. Mital has taught in India in 2007 as part of a Disaster Drill and Ultrasound course in Ahmedbad, Gujarat. Dr. Mital's latest chapter on "Wrist and Forearm Injuries" is publication pending in the upcoming 2010 Emergency Radiology textbook.
Dr. Mital has a particular interest in India as well as other developing countries for the training of prehospital care providers as well as the development of the specialty of Emergency Medicine in India, in particular disaster and ultrasound training courses. Dr. Mital is also interested in training as well as service in the specialty of Orthopedics : splinting, casting, reductions, and fracture care.
