Dr. Kiran Pandit's interests are focused on capacity building and systems development in emergency and disaster preparedness in developing nations and low-income settings. Dr. Pandit's early work began in Zambia and India in the field of HIV policy and programming. At NewYork-Presbyterian, Dr. Pandit has been lead faculty at several emergency management training initiatives in Gujarat, Galle, Colombo, Dominica Republic and Mumbai. Along with her colleagues, she also designed and delivered the first course in hospital emergency management in Mumbai, after the terror strikes of November 2008. She has worked in Montenegro, Eritrea, and the hurricane affected towns of Louisiana, the latter as consultant to the American Red Cross. She is also Board Member of the American Academy for Emergency Medicine in India. She is on the board of directors of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine in India (AAEMI), and teaches Evidence-Based Medicine for the NYPH Emergency Medicine Residency.
