Mr. Cronin is a nurse in the emergency department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He was recently the director of nursing at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative Disaster Recovery Center in post-earthquake Haiti. In this role, he worked in a triage tent and managed staffing issues providing the highest level of patient care possible with limited resources. Mr. Cronin and a colleague are working on a paper highlighting experiences and lessons learned from Haiti for the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) journal. Mr Cronin has also completed the SOLO wilderness medicine emergency medical technician course in North Conway, New Hampshire. His global emergency medicine interest is to bring emergency-specific nursing education to developing nations teaching basic emergency as well as more advanced critical care nurising topics/skills.
