Dr. Straff serves as member of the EM residency Education Committee at the NewYork-Presbyterian Emergency Medicine residency. Dr. Straff's international interests have focused on HIV and emergency medical care delivery. He has spent significant time in Kenya and Tanzania implementing HIV/AIDS education projects and pre-hospital care initiatives. Dr. Straff has been a frequent lecturer at emergency medicine conferences throughout India, and served as visiting faculty for the Mumbai Emergency Management Exercise (www.mumbaiEMEX.org). He is co-producing a documentary on the status of Emergency Medical Systems in Mumbai. Dr. Straff volunteers as the camp physician of Camp Amerikids, a summer camp for inner-city children of New York City affected by HIV. He hopes to bring a similar model to India, focusing on a sustainable, family-centric, treatment program. Dr. Straff's domestic research interests include improving patient satisfaction in urban emergency departments in the United States.
